Membership Comes With Benefits
Quality is our focus
Quality is our top priority at Razor Aquatics. This is a year-round program that focuses on building the “whole athlete.” Every member of this team receives high quality instruction and high quality training that produces results above the norm. We take the development of our swimmers seriously and give them what they need to thrive.
TRAINING GROUPS
There are five training groups on our team. They are Gray 1, Gray 2, Gray 3, Silver 1, and Silver 2. They range from beginner swimmers to highly advanced swimmers with Gray 1 being the least advanced group to Silver 2 being the most advanced group. Typical training sessions range from an hour and ten minutes to around two hours depending on the swimmer’s training level. Some advanced swimmers may have training sessions that last longer than two hours.
SCHEDULES
The training schedule for a swimmer depends on the time of the year and the training group the swimmer belongs to. Once swimmers have passed through the team evaluation and joined the program, their training days and time slots will be assigned to them. The schedule for a swimmer can change when/if their training group changes.
It is important that any family joining this team have availability between 5:00pm and 8:15pm Monday-Friday. Saturday practices usually start around 9am. Sunday training sessions are also an option if arranged in advance. During the week, one training group may start practice at 5pm and finish at 6:45pm while a different group may train from 6:30pm to 8:15pm. Another group may train for a shorter period of time or a longer period of time between 5pm and 8:15pm. But it is important that any swimmer joining this team be able to practice between 5pm and 8:15pm (really young children may be excused by 8pm however) during weekdays. Parents may not choose their child’s training slot based on their personal schedule. Children will be placed into the training slots that work best for the swimmers and best for the team.
The start time of practice also means the swimmer should already be on deck in their swimwear at that time. There is also a 15 minute cut-off period for lateness each day of practice.
HOW MANY DAYS IS MY CHILD EXPECTED TO TRAIN?
No swimmer is expected to be at practice 365 days per year (nor do we offer practice 365 days per year). But swimmers are expected to be at practice consistently. When swimmers with limited experience first join the team, they start with 3-4 days per week available to them. But as they advance in skill and ability, training is offered Monday-Friday for each swimmer. Weekend practices are also available for swimmers looking to take part in them. As mentioned earlier, swimmers are not expected to attend 100% of the offered practices. But swimmers should be attending the majority of practices rather than the minority. If 2-3 days per week is the most you can spare during competition seasons, there are other programs out there that will be better suited for your schedule.
